Ridley Academy - A night to remember...

I’d never heard of Uzbekistan before.

I didn’t even know what I was doing when I got there.

But I arrived on an airplane with just 3 people on it at about 4:00 in the morning, completely exhausted. But when I had stepped off the airplane there were about 40 people there waiting for me. including the Minister of Culture.

I was under a lot of pressure because I was worried no one would show up. 

The day of the show in the middle of the day I was getting ready and doing a sound check, It was in the center square of the city, and a few people were showing up watching my play. 
10 people turned into 20. 

20 turned into 100. 

100 turned into 400.

When I was finished, I noticed they all had their phones out, recording me.

Then my phone started blowing up. I was being tagged hundreds of times, mentioned in stories on instagram, tiktok, facebook, everywhere. and it didn’t stop all night. 

When I was in the building getting ready and dressed, a film crew had been interviewing me, and asked “Are you nervous?”

I had told her I was only nervous that no one would show up.

Then she asked “Have you looked outside?”

I looked out the window and there were people as far as the eye could see. 
there was supposed to be 5,000 people.

and 28,000 had showed up. 

The city had run out of police to do the security, so they started getting help from the local military as backup. 

The presidents and his family came to watch, and stood in the audience, (there was no seating) 

I was supposed to play for 1 hour and 15 minutes. 

I didn’t. I stayed on stage until 3 in the morning. 

 And nobody left the entire time. 

We laughed, we cried, and we made the whole city shake, dance, and party all night. All the restaurants stayed open late to keep people fed, It was insane. 

People drove for hours to get there in time after they saw the social media posts going viral.

The city came to life with the power of music. based on nothing except for the sound check. 
They didn’t know who I was. 
They just knew I was there for one night, and that I knew how to play.

And I knew how to play because I know the things which I teach in my online masterclass.
